Gateway Hosts Clean-up-Camp 2025: Building Friendships and Caring for Creation
Each year, young people eagerly ask: “When will the Clean-up-Camp be held?” This annual tradition has become one of Gateway’s most anticipated events, and in 2025 it returned once again—bringing together energy, teamwork, and community spirit.
Held on our own land, where development and construction are planned, the Clean-up-Camp goes far beyond simply tidying up. It’s a chance for students and young people to work side by side, build lasting friendships, spend quality and productive time together, and learn more about our faith and future projects.
This year, more than 20 young people aged 16–21 joined the five-day program. Many were first-time participants, including some who were hearing about the church for the very first time. The camp was extended longer than in previous years, featuring new daily activities alongside the teamwork. Divided into groups, participants successfully completed their daily assignments, and in the evenings, they gathered to share heartfelt reflections about the meaningful experiences they had throughout the program.
Together, the students and youth cleaned and improved over 50 hectares of land, while also watering and fertilizing trees and shrubs that had been planted on the site.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated young people who worked hard, built wonderful friendships, and gave their best during Clean-up-Camp 2025. Special thanks also go to the family, whose generous support has made this meaningful tradition possible year after year.
Two More Students Awarded Scholarships to Study in the Philippines
We are delighted to announce that two more of our students have been awarded scholarships to continue their studies in the Philippines. This year, both recipients were selected to pursue degrees in education, carrying forward a proud tradition of Mongolian youth seizing opportunities to learn and grow abroad.
For many years, the North Asia Pacific Division has generously supported education through scholarships, and we remain deeply grateful for their continued commitment to empowering young people in Mongolia.
Our scholarship recipients consistently make us proud—not only through their academic achievements, but also through their volunteer work and contributions to their communities overseas. This year, we extend special congratulations to Itgel, who was elected to his school’s student council and is currently serving as Media Coordinator at APIU.
We wish all of our students every success as they pursue their studies, share their talents, and serve as inspiring role models for others
First-Ever Summer English Camp 2025 Brings Learning and Joy
When summer vacation begins, many children travel to the countryside with their families. But for those without relatives in rural areas, free time is often spent playing close to home. This year, Gateway created a new and exciting opportunity for children to spend their summer more meaningfully.
With official approval to operate as a training center at our own facility, we organized the very first Summer English Camp 2025—a program designed to introduce and promote our training initiatives for children.
More than 20 children, aged 6–16, participated across two shifts. We were blessed to have the support of two young teachers, both of whom had completed missionary training among 1,000 missionaries in the Philippines, and who enthusiastically joined in teaching the program.
While some children initially struggled to communicate with their teachers, their progress was remarkable. Day by day, they learned new letters and words, and by the end of the camp, it was truly heartwarming to hear them joyfully say “thank you” as they expressed gratitude to their teachers.
As we look ahead, we are excited to organize even more engaging and diverse training programs for children, helping them learn, grow, and discover their talents in new ways.
The student scholarship program is ongoing.
We are proud of our students who have received scholarships from our organization and are successfully pursuing their studies. Living and studying independently in a completely different environment from where they grew up is not easy, but our students are not only excelling in their studies but also actively participating in school activities and making many new friends. We wish them good luck in their studies.
This year, another student will have the opportunity to study in the Philippines, and we are currently accepting applications after announcing the program among young applicants.
2024 has been a wonderful year for us. We are always happy to share the work we are doing with you. The main operations at Gateway have begun, and construction is underway. We sincerely thank everyone who contributes and supports our planned projects. As we have more work planned for the future, you all have the opportunity to contribute in any way you can. We ask that you include our efforts in your prayers.
We have moved into a new office, which marks a new step in our work. Our working environment has become more comfortable, providing us with opportunities to organize various great activities.
In our new space, we plan to offer training and classes for all age groups in the following areas:
• English language courses at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels
• Children’s handicrafts and developmental activities
• Communication skills, personal development, and many other subjects.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to setting up our new office. We look forward to your continued support and collaboration!
This activity has become a traditional event of our organization and we are entering its 3rd year. The 5K is a program that promotes a healthy lifestyle and guides families and children to a healthy lifestyle in a fun and exciting way. Through these kinds of activities, we are working to make the GIEC projects known to the public and to make Mongolian families well-educated and healthy citizens.
The Gateway 5K Fun Run partners each year with the Mongolian Marathon Association (MMHC). The Mongolian Marathan Association is a professional group that organizes various high level marathon competitions, all around Mongolia. We are always delighted to work with MMHC.
Also, during the 5K marathon, several other Adventist organizations and individuals will participate and sponsor booths, presenting healthy vegetarian food, massage, health screenings, and much more.
Each year, our 5K produces wonderful results with hundreds of participants.
We look forward to many people joining us for this year's 5K Fun Run & Fair, which will be held on September 8, 2024.
Below are some photos from previous year’s activities.
Gateway International Education Corporation successfully completed the second annual Gateway Clean-up & Leadership Camp, held at the Gateway Campus from July 18-21. During this period, 20 students between the ages of 16 and 22, provide a valuable service in cleaning the Gateway campus, while also nurturing their leadership skills, survival skilla, and spending time in Bible study with their peers. The 2024 Clean-up Camp was special because of the joint participation of 10 students from Samyook University. The event was rewarding and inspiring, and was a wonderful example of how an international cooperative even can be a resounding success.
Since its establishment in 2018, Gateway International Education Corporation has always strived to have complete financial transparency and discipline. We strictly follow all the local laws of Mongolia and use the SunPlus international financial management program for our financial records, and submit accurate reports in a timely manner. In addition to our CEO, our organization has three full-time employees, one part-time employee and two campus security staff, for a total of 8 team members.
With the organization of Gateway International Education Foundation less than two years ago, the Gateway Project is now an official non-profit in Mongolia, and we are able to issue tax deductible receipts for all donations in the US, through our special account at the General Conference (Gateway IEF: 368430). Because all operating expenses are covered by special sponsors, 100% of donated funds are allocated directly to the school construction cost. Please see our Giving Page to see how you can support our project.
For each church or school that would like to sponsor a Gateway classroom, dorm room, or staff house, we plan to add a fundraising “thermometer” on our website to track the progress of donations. Each church or school that joins us as a sponsor will have the privilege of commemorating their donation by naming their classroom, dorm room or staff house. We will maintain our “thermometers” on our website and update them every time a donation comes through. We’d love to add your church or school to our roster, so please join the Gateway team!
About Us
Adventist education in Mongolia is in its nascent stages but has thus far been relatively successful at the elementary levels. To provide continuity for our young people and to encourage parents to enroll their students in a church school with excellent qualifications, the Mission needs to offer compelling reasons for students to stay in the Adventist education system.
